Literal God-given flaxseed muffin recipe, grab a pen! đź™Ź

This is about a chat with God about how to make flax muffins. This is absolutely truth.

Until last night, I’d never made muffins from scratch in my life! Sometimes I make muffins at home by pre-mixed packages, you know, put the mix in a bowl, add water, an egg or two, bake, cool, and done.

Well for a while I’ve been wanting to buy some ground flaxseed and yesterday I finally bought a bunch when I found it on a great sale at Co-op. I planned to add it to smoothies, or to my normal whole-wheat bannock recipe.

I talk to God regularly and He talks back with me. I couldn’t sleep last night so I asked Him, in my head, what should I bake with the flaxseed?

“How about muffins?” He said.

Hmm. Flax muffins? I don’t have a recipe I thought. I could look it up…

He answered promptly, silently in my head, “Don’t worry about it! Just add a cup of wheat flour to a cup of the ground flaxseed, salt, 2 eggs, and water.”

Milk? Margarine? I thought, questioningly?

“Milk would go great. Margarine, no, save it for spreading on after.”

Vanilla?

“No. Vanilla doesn’t go well with flax.” God informed me.

(As I look through my cupboards) Cinnamon? (I thought to Him)

“YES. Cinnamon is a winner!”

I chose to preheat to 375° F, because that’s the temperature I use when I make bran muffins. I mixed the batter, tasted it, delicious, but quite dry. Intuitively, I grabbed my olive oil, but then asked, is it okay I put in olive oil?

“Oh yes, if it seems dry, olive oil is perfect.”

OH! What about baking soda? I thought to him?

“Yes! That’s what I forgot. Yes if you want your muffins to rise, baking soda is important!”

So I added baking soda and a little more water to make it more permeable, and mixed it in

Adding the mixture to the muffin tray, I found I had enough for 6 muffins. I placed the tray in the center of the oven for 18 minutes.

What a heavenly smell! I pulled them out. For ten minutes I left them to cool on the stove, then added some margarine to taste.

Heavy and nutritious but melt in your mouth wonderful! God, how do you know how to bake?

He answered, “I’ve made a few muffins in my day.”

It seems like an old, classic recipe.

“It’s a VERY old recipe.” He said.

What more is there to say? It had been a real conversation, all silently in my head.

I’d never read a flax recipe in my life, and did not know how to bake from scratch, even muffins, but they were just perfect and delicious!

He originally didn’t want me to share this exchange online as I wrote it down, but I disagreed and thought, couldn’t this introduce to you some people who aren’t sure you exist?

He conceded. “Actually, Elaine, if you really think it would bring more believers to the Kingdom of heaven and earth, go ahead and share it, on your Facebook page.”

So here we are. The wee hours of Saturday morning, April 25th, 2026. I pray this very true story to every ear that needs to hear and every eye that needs to see.

I hope this brightened your day as it did mine, and solved my hunger too!

Thank you for reading.
