Next week I am set to make a first payment to my second-level course in Biblical Hebrew.
I’ve decided I’m going to take that money, give some to Isaac, and also pay for blog promotion. Some things are more important than a hobby.
I can’t imagine how hard it feels for a child not having parents.
So many poor orphans needing parents.
Isaac sees them. He brings home street kids regularly, and has adopted 20 of them to stay under the roof of him and his grandma.
I see him trying to make a difference for these kids. What it means to them and to me.
Sadly all his children are not going to finish their schooling this year.
In addition to food, clothes, supplies, and emergency money needed, school fees are out of his reach.
He prays for G-d to reward me.
Truth is, God DOES reward me, in ways you can’t imagine.
Not in money, but in spiritual wealth, in Love, and in meaning, like the pearl of great price.
Matthew 13: 44-56
The Parables of the Treasure and the Pearl
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he found one very precious pearl, he went away and sold all he had and bought it.
Isaac is a good friend. He always has a kind word for me.
We’ve been online pen pals for about a year now, every morning and evening we touch base, appreciatively!
Considering out of the hundreds of scammers and schmoozers and beggars who approach me online, he stands out as an incredibly empathetic human being, taking home stray kids, and he treats me respectably as a human being instead of a resource.
Isaac sincerely loves his grandma, his 20 adopted children, his parents, and does all he can to find help for all, including grinding and farming to feed, while doing daily prayers and studies to further his knowledge in Judaism, and business.
If I could pay everything I would.
I can’t think of a single other thing as important to those children, to have all their needs met.
To show Isaac and his grandma that they are not alone in caring!
Unfortunately I survive on a low income and can only help them eat.
If we can raise just USD$300 for school, two of his children can take their exams and pass to the next grade this year.
However, this cost is out of our reach!
